The Latest Questions

  • What do I need to wear?
  • What do I need to bring with me?
  • How many treatments will I need?
  • Should I let someone know about any allergies or disabilities?

As with any medical examination, you will probably be asked to undress to your underwear in certain situations, however, most common treatments can be achieved with loose fitting clothing on, so please wear something you are comfortable in.

Please bring details of any prescribed medication or supplements you are taking. If you have any recent relevant X-rays, scans or medical reports please bring these with you. Also bring any orthotics, old pair of shoes, braces or supports you use.

This depends on the type of injury and how long you have had it for. Most patients experience a decrease in their symptoms within two or three treatments, whereas others will require a short course of six to seven to fully recover. Some patients then decide to have occasional ongoing preventative treatment, more like a 3 monthly maintenance session.

Of course! Especially if you have high blood pressure, allergies, are pregnant, or have other medical conditions. Please let us know at the time of your booking and we will prepare proper procedures for you.

Some of Your Questions

What duration of treatment do I need?
After you have had your initial consultation with your clinician and discussed your treatment programme and needs, you clinician will suggest an appropriate follow up treatment time to aid in your recovery. Some conditions will only require specific, specialised treatment, of which will be short in duration, others will need a more slower focused pathway and subsequently a longer duration. Your clinician will give you clear communication for how long you need for your follow up treatment and will book you an appointment at the end of each treatment.
What should I expect during my treatment?
The initial consultation will start with a few questions to understand what has brought you to the clinic.

In discussing your symptoms, the clinician will first ensure that the treatments on offer are the correct therapy for you. Otherwise you may be referred to another health professional for appropriate treatment or for tests or x-rays.

Questions will be about your symptoms and also about your medical history (previous surgery, fractures, sprains, illnesses, treatments and so on).

There may be some questions about your lifestyle (diet, employment, sports and hobbies) if this is relevant to your visit.

The clinician may carry out a physical examination, and you may need to undress to your underwear. If you prefer, you can wear shorts or loose trousers and a thin top.
What is the The Werx Clinic cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy, which is also a common sense policy. If you miss your appointment, or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged at 50% of your appointment, unless there is evidence or common sense to your non-attendance.
Should I bring a towels to the clinic?
We provide towels to help protect your modesty, so all we ask is that your wear the appropriate garments to allow access for an effective treatment to the problematic area.
When should I arrive for my services?
All we ask is that you arrive on time. We offer a great deal of patient privacy and therefore prefer our patients to leave on time before the next patients appointment and so a prompt arrival time would be better than an early arrival time.
