Clinic Help Centre
We have rebuilt the most common questions into clearer patient guidance cards, so you can prepare with confidence and choose the right next step before attending The Werx Clinic.
Before You Arrive
As with any medical examination, you may be asked to undress to your underwear in certain situations. Most common treatments can still be achieved with loose fitting clothing on, so please wear something comfortable and easy to move in.
Please bring details of any prescribed medication or supplements you are taking. If you have recent relevant X-rays, scans or medical reports, bring those with you as well. Orthotics, old shoes, braces or supports can also be useful where relevant.
We provide towels to help protect your modesty. All we ask is that you wear suitable garments that allow effective access to the area being treated.
Yes. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have allergies, high blood pressure, pregnancy, disabilities or other medical conditions. This helps us prepare the correct procedures and support for your visit.
During Treatment
This depends on the type of injury and how long you have had it. Many patients notice improvement within two or three treatments, while others may need a short course of six to seven sessions. Some patients then choose occasional maintenance treatment, often around every three months.
After your initial consultation, your clinician will recommend an appropriate follow-up treatment time based on your needs. Some conditions only require shorter, focused treatment, while others benefit from a slower pathway and longer appointment duration.
The initial consultation begins with questions about what has brought you to the clinic. Your clinician will check whether the treatments offered are suitable for you, or whether referral for another health professional, tests or X-rays may be more appropriate.
You may be asked about your symptoms, medical history, previous injuries, surgery, fractures, sprains, illnesses, treatments, lifestyle, work, sport and hobbies. A physical examination may be carried out, and you may need to undress to your underwear. Shorts, loose trousers and a thin top are suitable alternatives if preferred.
Appointments
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy, which is also treated as a common sense policy. If you miss your appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you may be charged up to 100% of your appointment fee unless there is clear evidence or common sense reason for the non-attendance.
Please arrive on time. We provide a high level of patient privacy and prefer patients to leave on time before the next appointment, so a prompt arrival is better than arriving too early.
For all enquiries, email is usually the best way to contact the clinic. It helps us keep everything organised in one place, respond more effectively, keep admin time efficient, and make sure your enquiry is handled promptly.
